She will always look back on photos remembering the happiest day of her life, feeling beautiful in the dress her father loved, and marrying her perfect man. ![]() However, Emily is extremely grateful to have shared so many special moments and memories with her father on the most important day of her life. Unfortunately, he passed away just a few months after the wedding day. Because of this, she always feared not being able to share that special moment with him. At the time of her wedding day, her father had been battling cancer for over seven years. While many brides cherish being walked down the aisle by their father, it meant more to Emily than most. The best part? It was beyond comfortable! Comfort was Emily’s one non-negotiable when shopping for a wedding dress.Įmily tied the knot in a gown that could not have been more different than her original vision, but she would not have wanted it any other way. The off-the-shoulder wedding dress features an eye-catching pleated satin bodice over a sculptured organza ballgown skirt with horsehair trim. While it was out of Emily’s comfort zone, she ended up falling madly in love with “ Zulani ” by Maggie Sottero. As her stylist pulled gowns that met the description, she also grabbed a few “wild cards”– dresses that were a little different, but worth trying on. She envisioned herself in a backless, high neck wedding dress with some type of illusion lace detail. Most brides come to us with an idea of what they want to wear walking down the aisle, and Emily was no different.
